Autobiography by Mir Ghaus Bukhsh Bizenjo launched:
Searching for solutions

Gentlemen: Thanks for your concern for Balochistan. But the sick man is

in his death pangs. Your prescription may not bring any result in his case.

You can keep on your intellectual discussions in your airconditioned meeting places.

Autonomy is the thing of the past.

Bizanjo wanted autonomy. he was sent to Quli camp and tortured.

Akbar Khan asked for autonomy. He was murdered.

New generation is not in a mood of listening to your or their own
pro establishment politicians whowant to remain under occupation.

Baloch have reached to the point of no return. They are determined tomake history.

They are the children of twenty first century. They belive in freedom of their occupied land.

They are not ready for any talk with the occupiers. Their only demand is
"PACK UP AND GO TO PUNJAB"and leave us an independent nation as we
were on 11 August,1947.

Autobiography by Mir Ghaus Bukhsh Bizenjo launched:
Searching for solutions

By Amar Guriro

KARACHI: Politicians, advocates, scholars and civil society activists have expressed grave concern over the increasing instability among the provinces and have demanded that the provinces be given complete political and financial autonomy for the greater interest of the country.

Former Sindh High Court (SHC) judge and eminent lawyer Justice (retd) Rasheed A Razvi has said that if East Pakistan’s situation were compared to the current situation in Balochistan, one would find that there are many similarities.

He said this at the launch of ‘In Search of Solutions’, an autobiography by Mir Ghaus Bukhsh Bizenjo, which was held at Karachi Arts Council on Tuesday. The book is edited by B M Kutti and published by Pakistan Labour Trust and University of Karachi’s (KU) Pakistan Study Centre. Razvi went on to say that Balochistan is facing the same issues that eventually led to the creation of Bangladesh.

“The only marked difference between East Pakistan then and Balochistan now is the fact that 1,200 Baloch people are in the custody of law enforcement agencies,” he said.

Razvi added that despite the number of missing people being very high, nothing is being done to recover them or provide relief to their grieving, suffering families. Talking about the book, he said that Bizenjo was one of the great politicians of the country and his autobiography is a guide for students interested in politics and the book not only contains political history but also predictions for the country’s politics.

Senator Raza Rabbani said Bizenjo was a great ideologist and a man of principle, while adding that the federation would become stronger after provinces are made stronger through autonomy. The Balochistan issue is very sensitive and any decision taken pertaining to it should be in accordance to what the province’s people want. All the politicians of Pakistan should understand the Balochistan problem, he said while adding practical solutions are needed for Balochistan’s problems. Rabbani said that many issues pertaining to Balochistan still have to be looked upon some of the important ones include the issue of provincial autonomy and control of its resources.

“The steps which can be taken without altering the Constitution should be taken as soon as possible,” Rabbani added. He also said that Bizenjo’s book is a guideline for the politicians.

Senior politician Shah Mohammad Shah said that Bizenjo was a philosopher as well as a researcher and could foresee the future. He said that Sindhi people were with him and that initially Bizenjo had reservations in joining MRD against Zia’s martial law because he wanted provincial autonomy to be included.

Jang group editor Mehmood Shaam said, this book would help historians and researchers in the future while also terming Bizenjo as the father of polictics.

KU Pakistan Study Centre’s Dr Jafar Ahmed said that Bizenjo was intent on abolishing the class system from the country.

Balochistan National Party’s (BNP) Senator Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo said that Bizenjo has not included many incidents and events in this book, which should be included in other publications.

BNP’s Tahir Bizenjo said that Balochistan’s politics is incomplete without Bizenjo and that he was a visionary politician. Bizenjo’s close aides made mistakes in understanding him, he added.

Pakistan Institute of International Affairs’s Masooma appreciated Bizenjo’s political role while adding that he firmly believed in the existence of Pakistan.
