Revolution sometimes can be referred to as change in socio-political & economy of a state, in human history Revolution have occurred many times and vary widely in terms of methods, duration & motivating ideology. Revolution can occur in a short span of time as it has been seen through out ages that where ever revolution took place it changed the socio-political structure through the change in the Governmental structure by extra constitutional and/or violent fashion. Revolution according to a scholar named Jeff Goodwin is “Revolutions entail not only mass mobilization and regime change, but also more or less rapid and fundamental social, economic and cultural change, during or soon after the struggle for state power”. To put the meaning of Revolution in today’s generation in a more moderate way one can look in the book of Theda Skocpol “State and Social Revolutions” which defines “Revolution as rapid, basic transformations of society's state and class structures...accompanied and in part carried through by class-based revolts from below.” In the theory of above testimony Revolution mainly revolves around two forces one with the power to crush the rising and one with the reason to revolt or rebel against a state tyranny. Revolution remained the most adapted word in the Global history which was used against state oppression over another state. There are many approaches for revolution to rise in a society and mark the socio-political changes three of them can be seen as psychological, sociological and political. In many stages revolution has been categorized to be psychological rather than sociological or political as many nations which revolted faced aggression from the Governmental federation of their time and even repression, recession and discrimination were executed on the deprived nations. If we see before us many nations revolted against state tyranny and can be tagged with term psychological movement in these past couple of years, many were justified and many were ruled out. There are many Revolutions occurred in the 19th century which changed the geographical borders of global map and were the successful revolutions of their times as we can count the Cuban Revolution in which the most famous and well known Revolutionist Ernesto Che Guevara (El Che) was the main character and was working with the Cuban Revolutionist Fidel Castro, The Yugoslavian Front Revolutions which became a victory for the partisans and the Soviet Union against the Axis powers Germany, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria & The most gruesome and gory revolution of the Bengali People, which ended in the Independence for Bangladesh and disintegration of Pakistan. The most practical revolution I would recall is the Cuban revolution and the Bangladesh Liberation war which became and icon for Revolution and some of the faces which were given to the term Revolution. Ernesto Che Guevara popularly known as Che Guevara has been given the name of father of Revolution because of his views against imperialism one such quote he said to his fellow comrades was “There are no boundaries in this struggle to the death. We cannot be indifferent to what happens anywhere in the world, for a victory by any country over imperialism is our victory; just as any country's defeat is a defeat for all of us”. Che Guevara may have criticized imperialism but mostly not always imperialism have been the reason for uproot against tyranny many nation like the Bengali peoples liberation war was not against imperialism but was about the equal rights which were taken by the oppressor or the Punjabi Elite. The Bangladeshi Revolution rose because of political discontent and cultural nationalism by the West Pakistan, The cultural nationalism began in the days of 21 February 1952 with Mr Jinnah addressed as “Urdu and only Urdu” would be the sole official language of Pakistan, This proved highly controversial, since Urdu was a language that was only spoken in the West by Muhajirs and in the East by Biharis. To this the language controversy reached a point when some Bengali students and civilians protested over the West Pakistan Government disapproving every culture and language inside the federation and declaring Urdu has the National Language of Pakistan. According to the intellectual related to the Bangladesh Revolution that the West Pakistan Punjabi elite were mobilized to crush the cultural and language of Bengali people by making unpleasant decision over declaring a language which was brought by Jinnah and his Muhajir (Migrants from India) over a population which makes half of Pakistan and they called it unfair to the people of Bangladesh. The protesting over the cultural discrimination by the Dhaka University’s Bengali students was crushed using brute forces by the Police and many students lost their lives because of indiscriminate firing to this day the Bengali people celebrate it as the Language Martyr’s Day and to honor the lives of the student who gave their life for their mother language, UNESCO declared 21 February as the International Mother Language day in 1999. The political discontent which was the main reason the Bengali people revolted and started to upraise their effort to capture their independency was because of Sheikh Mujib decision. As on 1970 election the Awami League, the largest East Pakistani party, won landslide victory covering 167 of 169 seats in East Pakistan and also the 313 seats in the National Assembly. It was the right of the Awami league to form a Government as it has totally beaten every odd but the leaders of Awami League again were deprived from their rights, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the leader of Pakistan Peoples Party, refused to allow Sheikh Mujib to become the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Instead he gave the idea of two Prime Minister one for each wing. The proposal elicited outrage in the east wing, already chafing under the other constitutional innovation, the "one unit scheme", And thus it all began with the speech which was given by Sheikh mujib on the eve of March 7,1971 which changed the destiny of the bengali people and which later became the de facto of independence, A short summary of the whole speech is “This time the struggle is for our freedom, this time the struggle is for our independence", and when the speech ended with the word independence the East Pakistan revolution began with phases. With every step the Revolution gained more ground inside the uproot of Bengladesh and with the uproot the Genocide of the Bengali Nation began with much momentum. In the Revolution of Bangladesh more than 3 million people lost their precious lives, Women were stripped from their honor, Student were burdened with the corpses of their teacher and after they were also shot mercilesslly, Mass graves were digged to bury the intellectuals which were killed to destroy the Educational system inside Bengladesh. One must think why I have taken Bangladesh Revolution, it was the main purpose of mine to write about the Bengali peoples suffering and because 16 December 2009 was the day when Bengladesh was formed as an independent state. Revolution can come in a span of time but to achieve the spirit of Revolution one has to give everything just to wake up his nation. Revolution can occur if one has put his mind up for it, Revolution doesn’t need mass public but an individual from the public can achieve the unthinkable by putting his life to risk and waking up people for Revolution. In the Bangaldeshi Revolution Sheikh Mujib was the Revolutionist who himself has awaken his nation from the deep sleep. Indian Revolution was also not achievable but it was not impossible, The youth who achieved was Bhagat Singh at the age of 23 the young Bhagat attained what most people in the India Subjugation marked as impossible, The indian Revolution was all because of Bhagat with his fellow man Raj Guru, Sukhdev & Chandar Shekar Azad. The indian population already knew that they were slave of the British who were the outsiders and now have became the rulers but they were also alert that they were once a free country and were the owner of this land and they dreamt of breaking the chains of slavery and achieve their freedom but there is a quote “To achieve something like Freedom one must have to choose the Path of Revolution first, As Revolution is the only key to the door of Freedom” and thus Bhagat’s Revolution was admired by the youth who were in to struggle for their freedom. Bhagat and Che Guevara were not icon or symbol of Revolution just for their own nation but many other slaved nation took them as their idol too, They were like stars and real life heros for any person struggling to achieve freedom through the path of revolution which Bhagat and Che Guevara left open for them. One such Revolution which was half born and was half dead was the Baloch Revolution. When we see the Baloch struggle within these past 100 years we will find Revolution but in a very short amount, Revolution did occurred in Balochistan but it died after short period of time. Firstly Balochistan being an independent and sovereign state was put to test in more different situation whether it be oppression, human rights violation, or through brutal suppression and discrimination in culture & language. Balochistan being vast in land and less population was always under colonization of powerful states and was subjugated through brute forces and operation conducted on the civilian population of Balochistan. As Revolution itself means to revolt against injustice and inhuman treatment by the oppressor, Baloch nation was always pushed towards the wall and as they didn’t see any thing fit to resolve these issue through negotiations they were forced to revolt for their right as it was snatched by the oppressor. The oppressor in the Balochistan case are also the Punjabi elite like the Bangladeshi Revolution , the Baloch Revolution also comes in the main archive in which Bangladeshi people have been, grasping of rights, conducting of mass genocide, cultural and social discrimination and depriving from basic human facilities. But like Bangladeshi leaders, the Baloch leaders have neglected the point of mass mobilization, or the main objectives of their struggle. Even some may discuss that the cases of both these revolution cannot be put in the same jar like Bangladeshi is much bigger in population wise and it even got the support of India at the time of their struggle but Baloch people or leaders were never supported by any outside nation or even by their own nation. Baloch nation in their lack of mass mobilization in the past suffered the consequences of their mistake and through this reason their enemy got the chance to put them in dispute with one another and truly destroyed their spirit for fighting or revolting, Although in these 62 years Baloch nation revolted against Pakistani suppression 5 times but the revolution was short lived, Some times the revolution was left by the revolutionist or some time Pakistan was supported by Iran to crush the ongoing rebellion as Baloch population in the Iranian Occupied Balochistan might also get the spirit to fight for the suppression also or even sometimes Pakistan with its shameless ideas would sworn on Holy Quran for negotiations but rather negotiating the Baloch rebels were hanged. There were 4 battles between Pakistani army and the Baloch rebels [Revolutionist] since Balochistan was forced to be annexed in the Pakistani boundaries, in these 4 battles the term Revolution was only motivated by some of the tribal people residing inside Balochistan that is the Marri and Bugti tribe. But if we take a look at the ongoing Revolution inside Balochistan we would see a new face of Revolution as it is being congested by Baloch youth, Every day operation and every day abduction of Baloch youth and Political personalities by the ISI & MI shows that Revolution in Balochistan has evolve from short lived to a mammoth. The ever changing phase of Revolution inside Balochistan has been sighted by many other Nations & Countries and it has also became an International talk which has given the Baloch Revolution a new space on which the Baloch people are being considered as truly justified over the action they have taken against their oppressor. As Che Guevara once said that “Revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall.” & now the Baloch people know how to make that apple fall. Revolution can be a word for the oppressor or the imperialist but for a Revolutionist it’s a path to his and his nation’s freedom. Balach Marri in his last statement said that “Today Baloch nation is on the verge of its Revolution where every nation has been, it is true that Baloch nation is much weaker in front of powerful State but we should remember this too that Baloch is the nation who are rich in vast land and coastline & whose Geopolitical importance is known by others but Baloch still lack this information, and I know that many key players are mouth watering over Balochistan region but smart & experienced nation keeping their profit also keep an eye over the profit of the regional nation but ignoring Baloch national profit powerful state for sometime can gain foot ground and get profit but smart and experienced nation keeping their profit also put importance over the profit of the regional nation and if the talks come to Pakistani profit than to fulfill these promises & profits Baloch do not give importance to it, The time is set for Punjabi nation to loot Baloch nation as long as they will, have fun and party and when Baloch becomes agile & have became intensified, will take audit of not only this era but also the past exploitation, Since Pakistan is a beggar state which stand on funding how much time it has left”. This is still on the record because he believed in the word Nationalism and Revolution. Today Baloch nation is being seen as the luckiest nation of the world in which there have been so many Revolutionists on the same timeline. I would recall a Sindhi nationalist once saying that “Baloch Nation and their struggle for freedom is pure and it is for the truth that is why ALLAH (God) has cherished Balochistan with so many Revolutionist that they would die on their words”. The slain Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti proved his loyalty to his fellow countrymen and truly inspired the word Revolution in the heart of every Baloch youth by his last words “Instead of a slow death in bed, I would rather dead come to me while I am fighting for a purpose”. A message to Dear Bengali nation, that what they acquired in their Revolution was priceless but they at least shouldn’t be so naïve about other slave nation as they were also destined to be a slave nation within the federation of Pakistan as the Baloch are now, Bangladesh was supported by India in their struggle and so do the Baloch nation are in need of a support from any Nation/Country whether physically or morally because the Baloch nation are systematically being genocide like the Bengali nation was, Baloch intellectuals (Politicians, Teachers, Professors, Doctors) are endanger almost every day the Pakistani army with its US aided war machinery is violating every law specified in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Bengali should give Baloch nation a moral support which would be very much appreciated, by keeping silence over the situation of Baloch nation Bangladesh will be supporting Pakistan and I know that Bengali nation haven’t forgotten about their holocaust. Lastly Happy Independence Day to Bangladesh and to the Bengali nation and to all the martyrs. |
